8/11/99- Just when you thought Ani had called it quits for touring this year, you better think again!! She has added a few more dates in September and October, with a special show with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra! See my tour section for details.  It is rumoured that Ani is in the recording studio this month recording some of her new songs. Also a book of poetry is due out soon as well. More on the new CD and the book soon!

5/18/99- Well, I just recieved this email from Ann Glenn who informed me that on Wednesday, June 2, Ani will be performing a live cybercast from the House of Blues at 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Your will need either the Real Player audio and video player OR the Windows Media Player to listen to this show. I hope you all enjoy the show. I know it will be great! Oh, also, if anyone is going to the show in Boston on June 17, I will be there! So I hope you have as much of a good time as I will have! (I have 11th row seats (-:).  GO OUT AND BUY THE ANI AND UTAH CD!!!!!! IT CAME OUT TODAY!!!!!

5/12/99- On May 18, Ani will be releasing yet another collaboration with the great Utah Philips. The new funk-folk work is called "Fellow Workers" and is saidto contain great old stories celebrating the spirit of anarchy. It was recorded live before a small audience in a huge house ion New Orleans.   Also check out the new tour dates I've posted in the tour page. Many dates for June and July.

3/6/99- Ani has announced more dates for her tour this spring. To find out more about them, check out my tour page. Later this year, Ani will be producing a new Utah Phillips album. Some music from this will be contributed to a new feature film biography of Abbie Hoffman.  Ani's new album, 6Up, peaked the Billboard album charts at 29. This is incredible for an indie album! Congratulations Ani!!!!

2/25/99- Congratulations is in order for Alanis Morissette's Uninvited which won the Grammy for "Best Female Rock Vocal Performance".

1/12/99- ANI IS A GRAMMY NOMINEE!!!!!! Ani is honored with the "Best Female Rock Vocal Performance" nomination for her song "Glass House" from Little Plastic Castle! The Grammy Awards will take place on Wednesday, February 24, 1999. Her competition in this category are Tori Amos - Raspberry Swirl, Sheryl Crow-There Goes the Neighborhood , Alanis Morissette-Uninvited,  and Lucinda Williams-Can't Let Go. It should definitely be interesting to see who actually wins the Grammy. So make sure all you Ani fans are watching the show to find out if our little darling has won!!

1/3/99- There is big news in the world of Ani this month, and it starts with a brand new album release! The album, "Up Up Up Up Up Up", is scheduled to be released on January 19. This new album is more folksier than her previous album, "Little Plastic Castle", and by the sound of it's first single, "Not Angry Anymore", I think it was a good move by DiFranco:-)! The song list consists of such titles as "'Tis of Thee", "Virtue", "Come  Away From It", "Jukebox", "Angel Food", "Not Angry Anymore", "Everest", "Up Up Up Up Up Up", "Know Now Then", "Trickle Down", and "Hat Shaped Hat". For a track list and lyrics of the new album, click here. Not only is Ani releasing a new album on January 19, she is also starting the first leg of her 1999 tour on January 19...in Australia!
